Tracey Rae Wilcox with Trace Mercantile

Joy Jones is a Wyoming artist who has lived in Riverton for 32 years. When she isn't teaching art at

Riverton High School, she enjoys going on adventures with her family, riding her horse, and making

pottery in her home.

Joy's pottery is both decorative and functional. She thoughtfully creates each piece to be used every

day, and she uses bright colored glazes so her work makes a lovely addition to any home.

Michaela Redman-Oldman

Michaela Redman-Oldman is an Indigenous artist whose work celebrates cultural identity, creativity, and the enduring traditions of Indigenous art and beadwork. Her artistic practice reflects a deep appreciation for the knowledge, stories, and cultural connections carried through handmade creations and passed from one generation to the next.

Through her beadwork and artistic expression, Michaela honors the beauty of Indigenous craftsmanship while embracing the importance of keeping cultural traditions alive. Her work is inspired by the relationship between art, identity, and community, recognizing that each creation can carry meaning beyond its physical form.

As an Arapaho woman, Michaela values the preservation of Indigenous knowledge and the responsibility of representing cultural traditions with respect, authenticity, and integrity. She believes Indigenous art is more than a creative practice; it is a way to maintain connections to heritage, express individuality, and share knowledge across generations.

Through her participation in the artists’ co-op, Michaela hopes to contribute to a supportive creative community where Indigenous artists are respected, cultural knowledge is valued, and traditional and contemporary artistic expressions can flourish. She is committed to supporting Indigenous artists and encouraging greater appreciation for the stories, skills, and cultural significance behind their work.

Her art reflects a commitment to cultural continuity, creative expression, and the strength of Indigenous traditions—honoring the past while making space for future generations of artists.

Potential members...

We invite you to consider Wilder Art & Gifts, LLC, a member-led artist cooperative gallery and gift store dedicated to elevating artists and art-making. We are located in Riverton, WY and will be opening in November, 2026. This is an opportunity to be at the ground level, grand opening stage of this incredible group of artists. We are currently taking applications and selecting our first Voting/Working members, Voting/Non-Working members and guest artists for the Holiday season.

Our Business Model

Wilder Art & Gifts, LLC operates as a democratic artist cooperative where members have a direct voice and vote in the gallery's direction and operations. Rather than a traditional gallery with high costs, independent decision making and steep learning curves, we are built by and for artists. Our model emphasizes:

● Member led and shared decision-making in gallery operations including shared expenses

       and duties

● Fair, transparent, and equitable compensation structures

● Rigorous, consistent artistic standards applied equally across all members

● Community-centered programming and exhibitions

Membership Options

Wilder Art & Gifts, LLC offers three membership tiers, the top two give equal voice in jury decisions and exhibition opportunities. All prospective members—regardless of tier—undergo the same rigorous, artist-led jury review.

Voting/Working Member Artist

Full member status with voting rights in gallery governance, strategic planning, and membership decisions. Voting Members commit to active participation in the co-op's operations and programming. This tier offers lower monthly and commission fees in exchange for working at the Wilder Art & Gifts, LLC location and participating in committees.

Voting/Non-Working Member Artist

Voting/Non-Working Member Artists exhibit regularly, maintain an active studio practice, and contribute to the community by participating in monthly meetings in person or remotely and providing feedback in person, by phone or email. This tier is ideal for dedicated, working artists who are unable to work at the Wilder Art and Gifts location on a regular basis. This tier has a higher monthly fee and commission fee due to no working or committee hours required.

Guest/Consignment

Flexible participation for artists seeking exhibition opportunities on a temporary or seasonal basis. Guest/Consignment artists maintain the same quality standards and jury requirements as all tiers, with adjusted participation expectations. This is considered a temporary membership and may not be used as a month to month membership. This tier requires  a monthly fee, but the commission percentage is higher than other tiers.
